IPTV System Data Flow

External Data (Electronic Program Guide, Weather Info, etc.)

• The IPTV Server gets public data, such as weather info, Electronic Program Guide, from the respective data providers and cache such data on the IPTV Server to be shown on the IPTV Endpoints

Hotel Guest Info

The IPTV Server has an interface with the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS)

• Receive guest check-in and check-out commands.

  • Information in a check-in command includes reservation number, guest name, check-in date, check-out date, preferred language, membership level, VIP number, no-post flag.

• Receive guest room change commands

• Send Folio Request command to request folios to be shown on TV per guest’s request

• Send Express Checkout command per guest’s request

Portal Menu and Media

• The IPTV Endpoints get portal menu and media (e.g., images and info video) via HTTP based calls from the IPTV Server

• The marketing personnel and/or system administrator add / update Portal Menu and Media via IPTV System Management Console

 TV Channels

With on-premises IP Channel Gateway:

• IGMP Multicast channels

• On-premises HLS channels

• Coaxial channels

With on-premises coaxial Channel Gateway:

Without on-premises Channel Gateway:

• External HLS channels
